Hi, I'm Karla.

Long walks, golden light and a father who let me stop every ten steps
Photography didn’t start in a classroom or with a career plan. It started on walks with my dad. Long, slow walks through nature where I’d stop every few minutes to take a photo of something that caught my eye – a shadow on a wall, the way the light hit the water, a flower I hadn’t seen before. He never rushed me. He just let me look.
I didn’t know it then, but those walks taught me everything I still do today. Pay attention. Notice the small things. And always, always trust the light.

Life taught me why photographs matter more than I ever understood
There was a period in my life when everything changed. I went through serious health challenges that put me on the edge and showed me how quickly life can turn. In that time, the thing I held onto most were photographs. Not expensive ones. Not professional ones. Just photos of the people I loved, the moments we shared, the ordinary days I didn’t know were precious until they were behind me.
That experience changed the way I see photography forever. I realised that photographs aren’t just images. They’re proof that a moment happened. That someone loved you. That you were there, alive, and it was real. When everything else fades – and it does – photos remain.
That’s why I photograph the way I do today. I don’t look for perfection. I look for the nervous breath before the ceremony, the hand that reaches for theirs without thinking, the laugh that escapes before anyone can stop it. The things that are real, unplanned, and impossible to recreate. Because those are the photographs people come back to ten years later and still feel the same thing.
Seven years, 1,000+ sessions and a city I know by heart
What started with a walk and a camera turned into a career I never planned but can’t imagine living without. Over the past seven years I’ve photographed more than 1,000 sessions across Dubrovnik, the Dalmatian coast and destinations around the world. Weddings and elopements on the City Walls and at Lovrijenac Fort. Surprise proposals on Mount Srd. Couple sessions through the backstreets of the Old Town at sunrise. Vacation shoots along the coastline at golden hour.
I know which spots are empty at which hour. Where the light hits best in June vs October. Which hidden terraces give you the kind of backdrop that doesn’t need a filter. And I’ve built a small network of trusted local professionals along the way – videographers, drone operators, florists, hair and makeup artists, planners – so I can help you put together everything you need without the stress of coordinating it all yourself.
I also never stop learning. I regularly attend workshops and courses on wedding photography, editing, working with clients and developing my style. I follow photographers whose work I admire and I’m constantly refining my approach. I believe the moment you stop learning is the moment your work stops growing.

Three things that never change
Real over perfect
You over the camera
Feeling over image
Outside the viewfinder
Before I’m a photographer, I’m a mum. I have two beautiful girls who are my biggest source of inspiration and the reason I understand – on a personal level – how fast time passes and how important it is to hold onto the moments that matter.
When I’m not behind a camera, I’m usually with them. Or on a long walk somewhere. Or travelling. I love the small, quiet moments that most people don’t notice – a sunset nobody else stopped for, a conversation that made me laugh harder than it should have, the feeling of being somewhere new for the first time.
Maybe that’s why photography fits me so well. It’s the same instinct I’ve had since those walks with my dad – noticing things, holding onto them, and making sure they don’t disappear.
What I shoot with and how I edit
Canon EOS R6 Mark II
Fast autofocus, excellent in low light and completely silent during ceremonies. It keeps up with unpredictable moments without drawing attention.
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 & Canon 50mm f/1.8
Two fast primes that cover everything from wider ceremony and location shots to intimate close-ups and portraits. The shallow depth of field helps separate you from busy backgrounds. Learn more about the Sigma 35mm and Canon 50mm.
Adobe Lightroom
The heart of my editing process. Every photograph goes through Lightroom for light correction, colour grading, skin tones, contrast, white balance and all the fine details that bring out the warmth and atmosphere of your specific session. This is where each image gets its final look.
Adobe Photoshop
When something in a photo needs extra attention – an unwanted object in the background, a small detail that distracts from the moment – Photoshop handles the cleanup. Used only when needed, never to alter the real feeling of the image.
Imagen
I use Imagen to apply my own custom presets across large galleries, keeping my colour grading consistent and efficient without sacrificing quality. Every photograph still gets individual attention – this just helps me get there faster.
Narrative
Narrative helps me cull through thousands of images after a session – identifying which shots are sharp, which eyes are open, where focus landed perfectly. It speeds up the selection process so I can spend more time on what matters: editing your best moments. Proud to be a Narrative Ambassador.
Pic-Time
I deliver every gallery through Pic-Time – password-protected, easy to view on any device, and simple for you and your family to download and share.
